French football star David Ginola collapses while playing Football match
David Ginola; former Newcastle and Tottenham footballer collapsed on Thursday afternoon in Mandelieu France.
The former footballer and model collapsed during a football match in France and was hospitalized immediately.
He has since been transferred to the cardiology department in Monaco where he is undergoing tests.
Reports state the 49 year old French ex- footballer is in stable condition.
French Newspaper Nice Matin stated that David Ginola may have suffered a heart attack during the match, although the tests have not been confirmed yet.
Ginola who left French club PSG in 1995 to the English Premier league, went on to play for Tottenham spurs, Newcastle United, Everton and Aston Villa in an EPL career that lasted seven years.
The French winger also played for his home country France on 17 occasions and scored thrice in these encounters.
More recently, Ginola has been presenter on BT sport.
He had showed no public sign of poor health before the collapsing incident.
While in recovery, the former French football ace tweeted that football and the hot sun wasn't at all a smart combination.
He also made a joke about the world cup in Dubai with regards to the hot weather.
Although retired from football, Ginola still remains a prominent public figure ,and the unexpected incident has caused concern amongst his fans and friends.
The Frenchman is currently stable and reports of the tests are expected to shed more light on what caused the ex football ace to crumble to the ground in Manelieu France.
