YOUR GUIDE TO CONTRACEPTIVES: THE CERVICAL CAP
A woman can get pregnant if the sperm from a man reaches her ova (eggs) and fertilization takes place. Contraception prevents fertilization from taking place by keeping the sperm and ova apart, preventing implantation from taking place after fertilization or preventing egg production. Contraceptive methods include the cap, combined pill, female condoms, male condoms, contraceptive implant, contraceptive injection, contraceptive patch, diaphragms, intrauterine device (IUD), natural family planning and progesterone-only pill
WHAT IS THE CERVICAL CAP?
The contraceptive cap has a dome shape and is made up of Latex or Silicone. It is inserted into the vagina before sex.it comes in different sizes and a nurse/doctor has to examine you to give you the right size. It covers the cervix preventing sperm from getting into the womb. It is used with a spermicide. It is 92-96% effective at preventing pregnancy when used with a spermicide.
