Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the goal to win the Community Shield and says the secret to his big game performances is he puts himself on a sex ban before all major games.
The Swedish striker made his competitive debut for Jose Mourinho on Sunday in the season curtain raiser versus Premier League champions Leicester City and scored a header in the 83rd minute to earn the Red Devils their first silverware, the Community Shield.
Zlatan has revealed that although some players use lovemaking to get themselves fired up for matches he always abstains as whenever he’s tried to ramp it up in the bedroom with his partner Helena Seger to get up for games his scoring in bed has made him a flop on the pitch.
He said: “There are quite a few players who say that they have a lot of sex to achieve better performances.
"I’ve tried that, but for me anger is the best driving force, I notice it again and again ... If I’m angry at something or someone, then I’m really good.”
He said: “She has the lion in me tamed. In heated moments she keeps a cool head.
"Without her I could have become a disgrace.
