Are sharks cute little monsters that should be handled like teddy bears? Danger and beautiful women seem to be the stuff of movies. But in real life it can be the stuff of nightmares. In a bid to prove that sharks can be cute and cuddly too, Irina Britanova, a 27yr old model took to the waters in Maldives in the company of tawny nurse sharks. In photos that have since gone viral, this model swims naked with sharks in a fearless and daring act.

Irina went for a dangerous kind of skinny dipping for the shoot which took place at a depth of 55ft. The incredible images were captured by underwater photographer, Andrey Nekrasov. He said:

 'What one can see in these pictures is a naked young woman talking underwater with sharks as they get to know each other; mutual curiosity.
'The aim of this is to capture beauty in nature and not show any vulgarity.'
'There were about ten or more sharks who showed curiosity and approached closely.
'In such a situation with capturing sharks underwater, the model and photographer have to adjust to the circumstances.
'I like to show naked nature, such as it is. I think the naked human in the wild looks harmonious.

'People usually like the pictures, though everyone with their different reasons.'

he real purpose of the project was to prove that the world wide shark prejudice is not necessary. And that most sharks are not dangerous to human beings. 

But the fact that certain species of these amazing sea creatures are some of the waters most deadly predators is not something to be overlooked. 

To be entirely care free about sharks is to forget that the great white for instance, kills almost a 100 humans every year and injures many more.
