Londoners call for break away from Britain in the wake of Brexit vote
Londoners have called for the England capital London to breakaway from the rest of Britain in the wake of Britain's vote to leave the European union.
Unlike most of the other parts of Britain who favoured an EU exit, Majority of Londoners voted to remain in the EU.
Out of the 3.5 million Londoners who voted in Brexit, 2.2 million of them voted to remain. Compared to the 1.5 million who cast their votes in favour of leaving.
Angry and desperate as billions of pounds were lost in trade following the Brexit vote, Londoners have turned to Sadiq Khan their Mayor, asking him to declare London independent from the rest of the UK.
And also to remain in the European union.
A online petition on the website Change.org which was launched by James O'Malley made the following statement;
"London is an international city, and we want to remain at the heart of Europe.
"Let's face it the rest of the country disagrees. So rather than passive aggressively vote against each other at every election, let's make the divorce official and move in with our friends on the continent."
This comes on the heels of British prime minister David Cameron's resignation and a fresh debate for Scottish referendum.
The bottom line remains the same; Brexit has caused more disarray and loss of confidence in Britain than we have seen in recent memory.
