Moongh dal Parathas
A healthy, soft, filling and easy to make parathas that do not need any special side dish. Simple pickle and curd serve great accompaniment for this and you love to have this even in lunch box once you taste this.....
Ingredients for making Moongh dal Paratha:
(Serves 4 people)
- Whole Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Moongh dal 4 tb spoons
- Chopped coriander leaves and green chillies 1 tea spoon each
- Red chilli powder 1 tea spoon
- Cumin seed powder 1/2 tea spoon
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
- Grated ginger 1 tea spoon
- Garam masala powder 1/2 tea spoon
- Salt to taste
Method to make Moongh dal Paratha:
Heat a pan and dry roast the dal till nice aroma comes. Pour 4 cups of water into it. Boil it till the dal becomes soft. Add more water if necessary.
When the boiled dal comes to thick creamy consistency add all the ingredients mentioned above except the wheat flour and mix well.
Switch off the stove and allow the stuff to cool down.
Now add the dal stuff to the wheat flour and mix well. Add required water with 2 tb spoons of oil and knead to soft dough.
After 15 minutes take lemon size balls from the dough and roll them to thin rotis and cook on the tawa with oil or ghee on both sides.
Now the yummy, soft and spicy paratha is ready to serve.
