Blood and sand in another bullfighting accident. A Bullfighter is gored in a gruesome attack by a giant Bull in front of shocked spectators. It's not news that fighting bulls is an old and dangerous  Spanish tradition where brave men match their wits and their carefully honed skills against the ferocious and naturally honed killer instincts of mammoth beasts with incredible power. 

Although more often than not, the matadors come out on top. But when they don't, then you get to witness a blood curdling attack that sometimes ends in death.

A young bullfighter is now fighting for his life after being gored through the throat, face and tongue during his debut tournament.

Young, brave and tragic. Daniel García Navarrete, 23, was pierced several times by a 1,000lb bull in Spain's biggest arena, Las Ventas, in Madrid.

The deadly attack sickened those who saw it occur. The attack was witnessed by a horrified audience of 10,000 who originally thought he had been struck just once in the thigh

A different story. But after being rushed to hospital in a serious condition, doctors revealed that he had been pierced four times, twice in the neck and the other two through his jaw.

Life threatening injuries. One of the wounds was 8ins deep while the other of 6ins penetrated the roof of his mouth and base of his tongue.

In addition,the  bull's attack also severed sciatic nerves, fractured a collarbone and caused extensive muscle damage. It was a miracle Garcia didn't die instantly. 

In his early 20s he was just making his debut. 

Doctors are not very optimistic about his recovery as they say his prognosis is severe.
