On Monday night, In a crowd filled with children, Manchester bomber Salman Abedi detonated bombs outside Manchester Arena after an Ariana Grande concert. When the smoke cleared, 22 people were dead, and  many more injured in the worst terrorist attack  in Britain in over a decade. 

The 22-year-old suicide bomber who also died in the blast, had visited his family’s native country Libya, and had only returned to England for a few days before perpetrating the dead attack. His 3 week visit to North Africa has fuelled concerns he was preparing for Monday’s deadly assault under the guidance and instructions of jihadists.

Born and raised in Manchester, Abedi grew up in a Muslim household.

At the time of the bomb blast, his registered residence was at Elsmore Road. Police have raided a downstairs red-bricked semi-detached property following the tragedy.

Family roots in the city of his birth. He is thought to have a younger brother, Hashim Abedi, and a sister Jomana, whose Facebook profile suggests she is from Tripoli and lives in Manchester.

Inconspicuous presence.Neighbours described Abedi as a tall, skinny young man who was little known in the neighbourhood.

A family friend who requested anonymity described him as 'Normal'
