Jose Mourinho wants Sir Alex Ferguson's lasting legacy at Manchester United
The special one Jose Mourinho want to pull a Sir Alex legacy at Man Utd. It's no big secret that Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the most successful coaches in football history, and certainly the most successful Manager in English soccer history. The legendary Scot spent almost four decades at the helm for the Red devils, and amassed an eye watering haul of 38 trophies at home and abroad
For those familiar with Mourinho. You would have noted that he has never spent more than three seasons at a single club. Highly nomadic in his career choices, Just seems to have caught the Red devils bug and now wishes for roots and a legacy matching the Club's all time greatest Coach Sir Alex.
Both his predecessors David Moyes and Louis van Gaal didn't last more than two season at Old Trafford, and we're largely a disappointment. But Mourinho's first season in charge, though not the brightest, was able to secure the EFL Cup and Europa League, automatically qualifying the club for next season's Champions League.
"I am ready for this," he told ESPN. "I am ready for the next 15, I would say. Here? Yes, why not?
"But what I try to do in the club is show that my work goes further than the football results, that it goes to areas that people don't think of as a manager's job.
"In my vision, my job is much more than what I do on the pitch and the results that my team gets at the weekend.
"This club, for so many years, was Sir Alex (Ferguson).
"People got used to it; people understood the great consequences of that stability. After David [Moyes] and Mr. [Louis] Van Gaal, I come to my second year and hopefully I can stay and give that stability that the club wants.
"People got used to it; people understood the great consequences of that stability. After David [Moyes] and Mr. [Louis] Van Gaal, I come to my second year and hopefully I can stay and give that stability that the club wants.
"I will try, but again, I will have to try to deserve that, but that's what I try every day that I work."
With the recent signing of powerful Everton goal Machine Romelu Lukaku, and Europe Beckoning once again, Mourinho has set an incredible stage to hugely excel—or woefully fail.
But as the straight talking Manager said—there can only be one winner.
