Nine of them are male. And two out of this number are women—black women who have reached the billion dollar mark and even surpassed it considerably. 

Not too long ago there was only one Black female billionaire in the world—the self made television and entertainment mogul Oprah Winfrey. For years, she alone wore the crown of the only black woman to own that much wealth in the entire world. But not anymore. Right now, two other self made money women have emerged to join her on the pedestal of extreme financial achievement. And two of them are Africans.

She started making a staggering amount of money from the 1970s till date and in the process, she amassed a fortune. She is the  first and only woman to make more than a billion dollars in Nigeria. The business icon is the founder of Fashion empire Supreme stitches and Famfa oil company.

2. Oprah Winfrey(United States) Networth— $3 billion. Industry—Media and Entertainment.

This inspirational woman built a bulk of her immense wealth from her day time TV show that aired for 25 years. It made her a household name as well as one of the most recognizable faces in the world. She also owns a successful production company-Harpo. Oprah holds the distinction of being the richest African American.

1. Isabel dos Santos (Angola) Net worth—$3.3 billion. Industry- Investments.

She is the daughter of the Angolan President and is the current richest black woman on earth. Apart from her other impressive investments, her netwoth was acquired from her stake in Angola's telecommunications company Unitel,  as well as her 25% stake in Banco Bic SA—Angolan bank. 

Economically Africa is on the rise, with several Nations currently bordering on developed country status.
