15 year old charged with murder after cutting throat of 7 year Katie Rough
Shock and horror have gripped a neighborhood in York after the gruesome killing of a litte girl.

The murder took place just an hour after she finished school.
Little Katie Rough was found down an alleyway with life-threatening injuries after police were called to an address in the Woodthorpe area of York on Monday. She died shortly in hospital.
Investigations have led to the arrest of a 15-year-old girl in connection with the killing. She has now been charged with both murder and being in possession of an offensive weapon.

She will appear before magistrates in York at 10am today.
Katie was discovered by dog walkers as she lay dying from the gash in her throat.
The young child who had just been a bridesmaid at her mum's wedding just 2 weeks ago was was found down this alleyway in the neighbourhood.
The 15-year-old murder suspect remains in Police Custody and is continuing to be questioned by specially trained officers. The family of Katie have said they are devasted by this tragic event. Her mum who had desperately tried to save her life in vain after she was found dying is distraught.The family asks for their privacy to be respected at this trying time
